About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage assigned contracts and provide contracting solutions supporting department and business goals
- Manage the full contract lifecycle from solicitation receipt through formation, administration, and close-out
- Partner with leadership on business and contracting strategy
- Assess contractual and compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Support proposal development and competitive deal strategies
- Develop negotiation strategies and guide team members in negotiations with DoD customers, higher-tier contractors, and other agencies
- Lead or support negotiations involving complex terms, scope, and risk
- Educate internal stakeholders on contract requirements, rights, obligations, and risk posture
- Collaborate with Legal Counsel and cross-functional partners
- Improve efficiency and execution quality through lean practices, digital tools, and rigorous contracting processes
- Provide timely contracting guidance to internal and external customers
- Travel as required based on program and customer needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- At least 7 years of experience in government, commercial, or international contract formation and execution
- Solid domain expertise in commercial terms and conditions and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), including FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 15
- Expertise in the DoD FAR Supplement (DFARS)
- Proficiency managing multiple contract types, including complex development efforts
- Experience with Firm Fixed Price and Cost Reimbursement contract structures
- Strong independent judgment and risk-based decision-making ability
- Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, unless already a U.S. Person
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
- May be subject to random and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing
