Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop AI, ML, and advanced analytics solutions that deliver demonstrable value to Unison, a GE Aerospace business
  • Lead horizontal teams and support junior team members
  • Assimilate customer requirements and translate them into timely, impactful, working solutions
  • Apply analytic expertise, cross-domain knowledge, and user experience skills while identifying new technologies
  • Work with Unison functional leaders to identify and prioritize impactful AI/ML projects
  • Support FLIGHT DECK initiatives, including Kaizens, VSMs, and Gemba activities
  • Engage customers continuously to maintain project focus and relevance
  • Work with local digital technology staff to ensure solution compatibility with existing business IT and data systems
  • Identify and pursue necessary changes as a change agent
  • Establish and communicate Data Science team members’ roles in relation to their function
  • Influence SPBs and below on decisions
  • Advocate for customers and communicate with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Develop, test, and release maintainable code
  • Determine and execute model validation, reproducibility, and deployment criteria
  • Leverage existing scripts and correlate analytical output to real-life outcomes
  • Collaborate with domain experts to derive insight from complex data

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, OR associate degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience, OR high school diploma with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Data Science
  • Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
  • Ability to prove U.S. Person status for access to U.S. export-controlled information: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, or granted asylee/refugee status
  • Strong Python scripting capability
  • Confident use of version control, ideally GitHub
  • Experience developing, testing, and releasing maintainable code while following coding standards and analytic development processes
  • Experience using analytics development platforms and deployed analytics architectures
  • Knowledge of advanced modelling techniques, including integrating pre-trained models with simulations or other advanced modelling
  • Awareness of model management solutions covering model building and deployment
  • Ability to determine and execute model validation, reproducibility, and deployment criteria
  • Champion of FLIGHT DECK fundamentals and Lean processes
  • Demonstrated skill in defining and delivering customer value
  • Ability to guide and mentor others in AI, ML, and programming tasks
  • Ability to collaborate with domain experts to derive insight from massive, dynamic, ambiguous, and conflicting data
