About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership for systems security engineering within the Advanced Technology Organization Emerging Technologies Team
- Develop technology strategy aligned with emerging market opportunities
- Provide expertise in systems security engineering for edge devices and embedded platforms
- Analyze attack techniques, common and emerging threats, and develop logical- and physical-level defensive mitigation strategies
- Provide expertise in electronic warfare for RF spectrum dominance, wireless communication, radar, and GPS-denied environments
- Design, develop, and implement cybersecurity solutions in complex heterogeneous compute systems
- Apply industry standards and methodologies such as the Risk Management Framework
- Analyze low-level firmware and real-time embedded software, including hardware-software integration, interfacing, and performance optimization
- Develop quantitative risk assessments and analyze cybersecurity vulnerabilities
- Support early-stage pursuits and capture strategies through customer engagement, requirements shaping, proposal writing, and white papers
- Collaborate with technical teams, business teams, product managers, SMEs, engineers, and stakeholders across ATO and Avionics
- Facilitate transition of new technology into the Avionics product portfolio
- Connect customer community members with GE strategic leaders and sales representatives
- Develop transition plans for technology maturity, productization, and mission fulfillment
- Maintain continuous learning and adapt technical approaches as state-of-the-art technologies evolve
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited university or college; additional relevant work experience may qualify in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience in systems security engineering, threat intelligence and response, vulnerability assessment, and electronic attacks
- Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills tailored to a broad variety of audiences
- Willingness to travel approximately 25%
- U.S. citizenship status required
- Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance
- Access to U.S. export-controlled information requires proof of U.S. Person status
- Experience or knowledge in systems security engineering for edge devices and embedded platforms
- Knowledge of attack techniques, emerging threats, defensive mitigation strategies, electronic warfare, and RF spectrum operations
- Knowledge of industry standards and methodologies such as the Risk Management Framework
- Security certification such as CEDSE; CISSP, Security+, CEH, or equivalent under DoD Directive 8140 or current DoD 8570 guidelines
- Knowledge of low-level firmware and real-time software for embedded systems
- Experience with scripting and modeling tools such as Python, MATLAB, C/C++, and AFSIM
- Knowledge of intrusion detection, protection, and mitigation techniques
- Knowledge of system engineering concepts, digital signal processing, sensor deployment, data acquisition, avionics interfaces, military standards, and open architecture standards
