About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and maintain automated metadata ingestion pipelines across distributed source systems
- Develop API and connector integrations for new data sources and data-product delivery, including third-party and customer-site sources
- Plan, schedule, and execute integration work for data products throughout the lifecycle
- Support schema-translation pipeline builds with the Sr Staff Data Engineer
- Wire the policy enforcement engine according to governance rules and the runtime design set by the Principal Data Architect
- Implement policy-as-code and attribute-based access control, including export-control and data-sovereignty enforcement
- Partner with federated IAM and export compliance architects to validate enforcement logic against the access model
- Onboard and manage technical operations of data products, including monitoring, alerting, and pipeline reliability
- Maintain technical documentation for federated teams
- Support the 3–5 business-day certification and onboarding SLA through timely technical assessment of submissions
- Build to architecture standards set by the Principal Data Architect
- Raise standards gaps to the Architect with proposed patterns
- Contribute to standard work for onboarding data products and operating the fabric
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with minimum of 4 years of professional experience, OR Associate’s degree with minimum of 7 years of professional experience, OR High School Diploma with minimum of 9 years of professional experience
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Data Pipeline Engineering & Systems Integration or IT
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must meet U.S. Person status requirements for access to U.S. export-controlled information: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, or granted asylee or refugee status
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government SECRET security clearance
- Experience with hybrid cloud, on-premises, and edge secure connectivity and secure data transmission patterns
- Familiarity with metadata-driven governance platforms and policy-as-code or attribute-based access control
- Hands-on pipeline engineering across ingestion, transformation, and orchestration in hybrid environments
- API and connector development for first-party, third-party, or customer-site data sources
- Defense, aerospace, or other regulated or export-controlled data environment background
- Certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer, or Microsoft Azure Administrator or Developer Associate is desired
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering is desired
