About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and supervise delivery of nursing care and activities on assigned units
- Ensure compliance with directives, policies, laws, and regulations
- Develop and initiate improvements in high-quality, cost-effective patient care
- Support the Nursing Department and organization’s vision, mission, goals, and Magnet philosophy
- Oversee nursing clinical practice, budgetary personnel activities, regulatory activities, and Electronic Medical Record support
- Optimize patient and family experience and customer interactions
- Participate in departmental leadership teams and communicate nursing and system strategies
- Formulate nursing policies and goals and interpret policies, procedures, and regulations
- Promote positive guest relations and evidence-based practice
- Foster relationships with the Medical Director and Physician Liaison
- Mentor staff, delegate actions, and create an environment of participation
- Facilitate educational program attendance and collaborate on orientation, continuing education, and competencies
- Supervise assigned personnel and assist with onboarding new employees
- Conduct performance appraisals, monitor absenteeism, order supplies, schedule 24-hour staffing, and perform patient and bed triage
- Address performance problems and initiate disciplinary processes as appropriate
- Design and implement strategic operational plans covering capital, clinical, financial, Human Resources, IS, quality, and service areas
- Manage assignments to meet worked-hour statistics and demonstrate fiscal accountability
- Develop and promote customer-sensitive service standards
- Measure performance against standards and seek team commitment to exceed them
- Resolve patient and customer issues
- Conduct leadership rounds
- Review unit and system risk exposure and develop liability-reduction education
- Ensure incidents, serious events, and sentinel events are reported to PI and addressed promptly
Requirements
What you’ll need- Enrollment in Bachelor's Degree in Related Field (Required)
- Graduate from Specialty Training Program (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree-Nursing (Preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience (Required)
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
