About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop a strong understanding of assigned applications
- Collect data through discussions, workflow observations, and document review
- Analyze best-practice workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency or effectiveness
- Produce workflow, gap analysis, needs assessment, design, build, testing, project, status, and transition documentation
- Perform unit and scenario-based application testing
- Apply critical thinking to problem solving and understand root causes
- Communicate work status with peers, informaticians, stakeholders, project teams, and leadership
- Apply appropriate issue escalation procedures
- Complete system builds and documentation according to department guidelines and change management policy
- Participate actively in meetings and provide feedback and input
- Prepare training materials and conduct virtual or in-person training classes
- Participate in team on-call rotation to provide 24x7x365 support
- Provide remote and/or on-site support to end-users
- Support system upgrades, patches, and monitoring
- Assist with department guidelines, standards, procedures, and policies
- Participate in vendor review and selection processes
- Test integration and technical requirements of peripherals and devices interfacing with assigned applications
- Perform other qualified duties as required or assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) (Required)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (Required)
- Relevant experience may be a combination of related work experience and degree obtained (Associate’s Degree = 2 years; Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years)
- Demonstrated experience supporting Medicare, Medicaid, Dual Eligible, and other government-sponsored healthcare programs
- Proven ability to perform business analysis and technical analysis, including gathering, documenting, and translating business, operational, and regulatory requirements into system solutions
- Strong understanding of healthcare payer operations, CMS regulations, compliance requirements, and government program processes
- Experience partnering with business stakeholders and technical teams to analyze processes, define requirements, support system enhancements, and implement regulatory initiatives
- Experience with requirements management, data analysis, testing, system integration, and production support in a regulated healthcare environment
- Knowledge of healthcare administration systems, data flows, reporting, and technology solutions supporting government programs
- Communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to participate in a team on-call rotation providing 24x7x365 support
- Adherence to information security best practices and organization policies and procedures
