About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide analytic support to the supported business or clinical area
  • Collect, clean, and interpret data sets to answer questions and solve problems
  • Identify improvement opportunities and support evaluation of existing processes and improvement efforts
  • Observe consultation processes and document project requirements and scope
  • Collaborate with internal partners and organizations to design and develop reporting solutions and analytic studies
  • Plan projects and request-completion tasks with assistance from experienced analysts
  • Provide time and effort estimates based on gathered requirements
  • Manage projects with supervision
  • Recommend analysis approaches and additional analyses or reporting based on business questions and findings
  • Develop, validate, and execute simple queries
  • Develop basic reports and perform routine data analysis
  • Interpret results and make recommendations under supervision of senior analysts or supervisors
  • Present analyses and reports to internal customers and stakeholders
  • Report and help troubleshoot data-quality issues during profiling, testing, or validation
  • Participate in strategic departmental initiatives
  • Share information, suggestions, resources, and knowledge with team members
  • Follow departmental policies and organizational procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) (Required)
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience (Required)
  • Relevant experience may be a combination of related work experience and degree obtained
  • Associate’s Degree is equivalent to 2 years of relevant experience; Bachelor’s Degree is equivalent to 4 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of data structures, programming, and statistics
  • Familiarity with basic descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Working knowledge of relevant source systems, databases, and data marts
  • Proficiency with business intelligence software systems used at Geisinger
  • Ability to develop, validate, and execute simple queries
  • Communication, Information Technology Project Management, and Interpersonal Communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to describe data-analysis results precisely and clearly
  • Must comply with department policies and procedures, including request intake/fulfillment, change management, and data governance practices
