About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with inpatient and outpatient pharmacy IT and Clinical Informatics to select, implement, and evaluate automated technology and computerization of pharmacy-related patient care activities, including decision support
  • Coordinate drug delivery and pharmaceutical care with external departments
  • Build, implement, integrate, and maintain pharmacy automation and technology
  • Assure appropriate testing of integrated applications
  • Evaluate and test system upgrades, new functionality, and pharmacy-practice-related program changes
  • Facilitate resolution of pharmacy technology, decision support, and database management issues
  • Provide pharmacy technology in-service education for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and external department staff
  • Support workflow analysis and training during new EMR go-lives
  • Troubleshoot charge errors in Siemens or Epic for Revenue Cycle and Revenue Management
  • Update the Charge Description Master for medications, including descriptions, coding, and charges
  • Support the 340b Director with charge and dispense information sent to the 340b accumulator from electronic systems
  • Perform work typically in a clinical environment while complying with organization policies and job-specific obligations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (required)
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience (required)
  • Licensed Pharmacist
  • Ability to work days
  • Ability to work 40 scheduled hours per week
  • Teamwork skills
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Science (preferred)
