About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Transcribe patient diet orders using department software
- Ensure patients’ specialized dietary needs are met in tandem with clinical nutrition staff
- Enter nourishment specifications, allergies, food dislikes, and specialized information into patient diet history files
- Check the accuracy of the Information System substitution list
- Calculate fluid restrictions and specialized meal patterns according to procedures and meal plans
- Process patient tray tickets before each meal
- Receive information regarding admissions, transfers, expirations, and diet changes via EPIC, fax, ADT, phone, and diet lists
- Update patient menus and tray tickets as needed
- Print tray tickets, tally reports, nourishment labels, and other required reports
- Accept credit card payments and track meals for reporting
- Initiate downtime and emergency procedures and help direct staff when resources are limited
- Participate in training and onboarding
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) (Required)
- Minimum of 1 year related work experience (Preferred)
- Communication skills
- Availability for rotating weekends and holidays
- Occasional travel to campus for training purposes is required
- Ability to work 10:30am–7pm
- Ability to work in an office environment
- Ability to comply with organization policies and procedures
