About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply statistical analysis, data modeling, and machine learning techniques to transform data into actionable business and engineering insights
  • Develop intelligent solutions using predictive analytics, machine learning, computer vision, and generative AI technologies
  • Build and maintain data pipelines, databases, and analytics platforms
  • Use connected product, manufacturing, test, and operational data to improve product performance, reliability, customer experience, and business outcomes
  • Design, validate, and bring new products to market
  • Support new product development in generator or power tool product areas
  • Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and bills of materials
  • Support product development plans, including schedules, product costs, and design inputs
  • Interface with internal company personnel and provide technical support for assigned projects
  • Specify functional requirements; design, test, and integrate standard components
  • Evaluate design effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety
  • Design, execute, and evaluate fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability
  • Use CAD or CAE systems to model designs and produce detailed engineering drawings
  • Travel to other Generac facilities as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Civil Engineering
  • Understanding or working knowledge of Pro-E and/or AutoCAD
  • Proficient oral and written communication; able to write clearly and succinctly
  • Ability to work full-time during the summer, 40 hours per week
  • Completion of sophomore year preferred
  • Ability to travel to other Generac facilities as necessary
