About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Strategically manage assigned electronics commodities and products worldwide
  • Work with cross-functional teams and own supplier processes and performance
  • Create and execute sourcing strategies to reduce total material acquisition costs, improve revenue and gross margin, align the supply base, enhance product quality, and reduce risk
  • Identify and deliver material cost productivity through continuous improvement methodologies
  • Define and communicate commodity and supplier strategies
  • Manage supplier expectations and performance, including corrective actions and improvements using data analytics
  • Develop, negotiate, and execute supplier agreements
  • Champion supplier development and quarterly business reviews
  • Ensure procurement complies with applicable laws, regulations, and standard practices
  • Evaluate current and new suppliers to improve service levels, total cost, and efficiency
  • Negotiate Master Supply Agreements and improve inventory turns
  • Optimize supply chains by reducing lead times
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams concerning quality, price, inventories, and material availability
  • Report on supplier and commodity market trends and analysis
  • Participate in supplier quality audits
  • Own and update supplier scorecards
  • Act as SAP Super User within the assigned functional area
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 6 years’ experience in strategic sourcing, supplier quality or operational management
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 30% of the time
  • MBA preferred
  • Previous experience with continuous improvement, Six Sigma concepts and methodologies
  • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP
  • Experience sourcing printed circuit board assemblies in a global EMS supply base model
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skills in cost reduction and bidding techniques
  • Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers
  • Thorough knowledge of purchasing techniques, including strategic supplier concepts
  • Knowledge of supplier contracts, product conformity, quality toolbox, and problem-solving methodologies
  • Ability to assess critical market dynamics and competitive landscapes
  • Ability to identify market and supply risks and develop contingency plans
  • Ability to track, report, and reconcile EPPV and APPV
  • ERP knowledge
  • Ability to perform frequent computer-based work and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
