About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Engage in floor safety needs such as incident response, limited safety coaching, PPE distribution, ergonomic assessments, safety audits, and pre-pros for altered or new products
  • Facilitate new hire orientation
  • Collect environmental compliance data, including air monitoring, filter performance readings, and hazardous waste inspections
  • Monitor and archive inspection supplies for all in-house powered industrial trucks (PITs)
  • Serve as the primary contact for Environmental, Health and Safety issues and concerns on the production floor
  • Post new emergency procedures, update SDS files, and archive incident reports and training documentation
  • Assist in emergency responses and communication
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrate an understanding of corporate environmental, health and safety policies
  • Proven knowledge of safety equipment and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to influence teams and individuals across multiple functions within the organization
  • Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand OSHA, EPA, WDNR, DOT and local regulations
  • Public speaking skills
  • Ability to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects or controls, and occasionally stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25–50 pounds
  • Ability to perform frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus
