About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and deliver full-stack software features from design through production deployment
Develop frontend applications, middleware, APIs, and backend integrations
Translate product and design requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and engineering stakeholders
Influence architecture, engineering standards, code quality practices, and technical decision-making
Mentor engineers and guide peers through code reviews, technical discussions, and shared best practices
Apply AI-assisted development tools and practices to improve productivity, quality, and delivery outcomes
Contribute to the Generac Fleet platform and related software initiatives
Develop and test power generation control systems that can be remotely controlled and monitored using web and mobile technologies
Support Generac’s dealer network within a distributed engineering team

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of software engineering experience, including experience delivering production-level software and owning features from concept through deployment
3+ years of full-stack development capability
Required experience with TypeScript and React
1+ year of demonstrated integration and adoption of AI-assisted development tools in daily work
Ability to work without sponsorship now or in the future, including OPT or H1B transfer
Experience with Java, Golang, AWS, Azure, Terraform, CI/CD practices, TanStack, Tailwind, Vite, and Storybook preferred
Technical mentoring and technical leadership experience preferred
Experience deploying applications on Kubernetes preferred
Experience implementing observability and alerting pipelines preferred
Ability to influence engineering standards, architecture, and technical direction preferred
Experience mentoring engineers preferred
Experience increasing software development productivity and quality through responsible use of AI-enabled tools preferred
