About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Track inventory and stock changes within a distribution setting
- Ensure part quantities are accurate and raw goods are stored in the correct locations according to the inventory system
- Inspect shipments as needed
- Maintain records and adjust inventory discrepancies
- Support continuous improvement efforts within the warehouse
- Track items, parts, and products inside the warehouse
- Work with management to recommend process improvements
- Learn and become proficient in driving power equipment
- Look up products and identify missing inventory
- Research missing inventory and correct system errors
- Perform dynamic cycle counts and inventory adjustments
- Use barcode scanners, computers, and/or RF tools to enter and adjust inventory database items
- Monitor daily inventory changes using inventory or warehouse management systems
- Audit warehouse locations and correct record defects
- Lead small-team projects as needed
- Present dashboards, metrics, and KPIs
- Plan and communicate daily team plans
- Work across multiple warehouse or plant areas
- Set up and control master data in SAP
- Report to a Production, Materials, or Distribution Supervisor with some autonomy
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or comparable work environment where duties include inventory control
- Understands the cycle count methodology
- Can perform counts and adjustments in SAP as needed
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to effectively send emails to other plants
- Ability to operate equipment safely
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills
- Good problem solving/analyzing skills
- Communicate effectively
- Can use SAP to process action reports as directed by Supervisor
- Ability to create and process STO’s
- Effectively use barcode scanner, computer and/or radio frequency tool for performing tasks
- Understand and perform E&O process
- Ability to lead projects with a small team
- Ability to fill in for the Lead when necessary
- Willingness to assist other teams onsite and remotely
- Ability to work in multiple areas of the warehouse or plant
- Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, manipulate objects or controls, and perform computer-based work
- Ability to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders occasionally
