About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform detailed ballistic analyses of solid rocket motor components
- Support the Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team
- Apply engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair, and test mechanically functioning equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
- Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data
- Evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
- Specify system components or direct product modifications to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties, diagnose faulty operation, and make recommendations to maintenance crews
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
- Interface with customers
- Provide technical leadership across the program
- Work independently with minimal guidance and solve complex problems
- May lead projects or project steps and act as a resource for less experienced colleagues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience
- Engineering degree required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong background in solid rocket motor ballistics
- Expertise in internal ballistics, performance prediction, and propulsion system modeling
- Familiarity with industry-standard analysis tools
