About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gather information from internal and external sources and build and run analytical models
  • Interpret analytical results for customers
  • Attend development team meetings and interact with compartment integration teams
  • Lead and execute development of new engineering analysis capabilities
  • Participate with Product Development teams on new, major, and minor designs
  • Create and execute FEA plans for assigned projects
  • Lead CAE suppliers and internal resources to meet program milestones and deliverables
  • Perform structural analysis on complete trimmed vehicle structures, including BIW, chassis structure, interior structure, fixed glass, bumpers, modules, and closures
  • Coordinate resources for virtual design assessments and compare results with performance requirements
  • Recommend viable design solutions addressing performance issues with mass and cost efficiency
  • Plan and implement test and development programs to enhance CAE capability
  • Use CAE to explain physical testing results and engineer solutions for validation and release issues
  • Monitor new technology, competitive products, and current CAE tools and trends

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • Five (5) years of experience as a CAE Engineer, Automotive Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or related role
  • Five (5) years of experience with 2D and 3D CAD modeling
  • Five (5) years of experience with Finite Element Analysis tools
  • Five (5) years of experience with structural durability analysis and simulations utilizing N Code, including Design Life
  • Five (5) years of experience with linear and non-linear simulations, including Abaqus, Nastran, and Dyna
  • Five (5) years of experience performing structural analysis on complete trimmed vehicle structures consisting of BIW, chassis structure, interior structure (IP), fixed glass, bumpers, modules, and closures
  • Five (5) years of experience developing new engineering analysis capabilities
  • Must be able to report to the local office
