About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create variation simulation models accounting for part and process variation, part stiffness, and structural compliance
- Partner with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, suppliers, and launch teams
- Assist with dimensional strategies, datum schemes, locating strategies, and tolerance allocation through variation analysis simulations
- Build and run 3D variation models using approved engineering methods and tools
- Develop or support compliant variation models accounting for part stiffness and material behavior
- Combine 3D variation simulation with traditional CAE analyses to evaluate dimensional performance and identify design or process improvements
- Identify dimensional risks and communicate recommended actions to cross-functional partners
- Participate in reviews with engineering, supplier, and plant teams
- Maintain technical documentation, action plans, and status updates
- Apply GM processes, standards, lessons learned, and engineering best practices
- Build knowledge of digital engineering tools and identify opportunities to improve dimensional processes and automation
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS in Engineering, Math or equivalent
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Design/Release/Manufacturing Experience

- Preferred: MS in Engineering
- Preferred: CAE Experience
- Preferred: ASME Y14.5M Professional Certification
- Preferred: DFSS Black Belt Certification and/or DFSS Green Belt Certification

- Preferred: Manufacturing/Assembly Experience
- Preferred: Product Launch Experience
- Preferred: Unigraphics (UG)/NX
- Preferred: Teamcenter Visualization Mock-Up
