About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and ensure successful execution of marketing and customer engagement events with customers, partners, and stakeholders
  • Lead teams planning, coordinating, supporting, and executing high-profile events and customer engagement activities
  • Build relationships and collaborate with GM and brand teams to expand GM Defense brand and product presence
  • Coordinate and, when needed, personally execute activities at Warren Technical Center, Milford Proving Ground, and other locations
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to plan customer- and product-focused events
  • Lead planning and coordination of on-site customer engagement events at Detroit-area GM facilities
  • Plan and coordinate product experiences such as ride-and-drive events and demonstrations
  • Coordinate and execute static product-display activations, often with other GM brands
  • Support design and execution of long-term marketing and communications campaigns for capture campaigns and growth priorities
  • Lead planning and execution support for major tradeshows, including booth design, execution planning, lodging, and logistics
  • Coordinate apparel for GS&S and key GM Defense personnel
  • Manage ordering and distribution of apparel and promotional items for marketing activities
  • Coordinate with GM Merchandise & Licensing to use GM Defense branding on third-party products

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, branding, event management, customer engagement or related areas
  • Expertise managing product-focused experiential marketing or customer engagement events for defense/government or similar industries
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, manage execution, and track resources for customer engagement projects
  • Familiarity with the defense/government or security sector
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally, including weekends
  • Strong visual communications and presentation skills, including PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of branding principles and experiential marketing strategies
  • Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee, or refugee
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferred
  • Experience with defense, government, and/or automotive sectors preferred
  • Strong analytical skills for measuring effectiveness/ROI and making data-driven improvements preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience influencing and collaborating with diverse stakeholders preferred
  • Previous marketing or customer engagement experience for military and/or government preferred
  • No current or future need for GM immigration sponsorship
  • Position is subject to export control restrictions
