About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support digital transformation and AI enablement efforts for GM Quality Connected Customer Continuous Improvement
- Listen to and frame stakeholder problems
- Create new data pipelines
- Build AI/ML solutions
- Develop user interfaces for direct decision support
- Propose and implement high-impact data-driven analytic solutions for quality teams
- Build predictive and prescriptive models and machine-learning algorithms
- Analyze diverse information to discover trends and patterns
- Preprocess structured and unstructured data
- Monitor and sustain model effectiveness
- Present complex information using data visualization and data storytelling
- Provide analytical dataset pipelines and user interfaces with diverse technical teams
- Create technical documentation for models and processes
- Create repeatable and scalable code and processes to improve development and execution efficiency
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Analytics, Operations Research, Engineering, Business, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or another quantitative field
- 2 years of experience as a Data Scientist or related
- Experience developing, deploying, and monitoring performance of large analytic datasets or machine-learning-based models
- Proficiency in Python or similar coding languages
- Proficiency in SQL, Spark, or similar querying languages
- Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools
- Proficiency in Databricks or similar data lake technology platforms
- Ability to work with diverse technical teams to produce analytical datasets
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects without sacrificing quality
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Highly collaborative work style
- Ability to evaluate the big picture and provide meaningful business insights and actions
- Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, or other immigration support
- Master's/Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Business, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred
