About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership, daily work direction, and project coordination for Designers within the Bumper, Fascia, Grille & Trim organization
  • Develop and drive math-based design solutions meeting system and subsystem requirements
  • Ensure successful vehicle integration across all phases of the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP)
  • Guide, coach, and provide technical direction to Designers
  • Lead development, refinement, and release of Criteria and Typical Sections
  • Establish ownership and consistency of Standard Modeling Methods and Virtual Integration Methods
  • Promote adherence to design processes, clearance analysis, Vehicle Assembly Structure, and Global Data Security requirements
  • Coach team members in Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, and vehicle integration principles
  • Support NX analyses and interpretation of results
  • Facilitate and participate in Design Reviews, Virtual Reviews, PDT meetings, and cross-functional workgroups
  • Develop and validate virtual integration solutions for components, subsystems, and full vehicle applications
  • Maintain accurate material, mass, and part specification data within math models
  • Collaborate with CAE teams to evaluate studies and implement design improvements
  • Support subsystem integration into overall vehicle systems
  • Conduct design studies, evaluate alternatives, and provide technical recommendations
  • Drive quality and timing of design releases against GVDP milestones and program deliverables
  • Identify and resolve technical issues while balancing requirements, manufacturing constraints, cost, and performance objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent relevant experience
  • Advanced proficiency in NX CAD modeling and virtual vehicle integration
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, manufacturing processes, and design release requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive results in a fast-paced development environment
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Extensive experience supporting vehicle development through multiple GVDP cycles (preferred)
  • Knowledge of GM design standards, math methodologies, and data management systems (preferred)
  • Experience leading component, subsystem, or vehicle integration activities across multiple programs (preferred)
  • Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, or similar immigration support
