About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, analyze, build, and implement machinery, tooling, and equipment for transmission and drive unit manufacturing
- Lead equipment and tool design, construction, integration, plant installation, launch, and continuous improvement
- Source and qualify assembly equipment and processes from concept through production implementation
- Develop cost estimates and manage program timing and spending
- Provide technical leadership and oversight to external suppliers and equipment vendors
- Develop, test, and implement advanced manufacturing process technologies
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including PFD, PFMEA, PCP, and BOE/BOP documentation
- Apply GD&T knowledge to equipment, tooling, assembly processes, and quality verification procedures
- Support manufacturing process development with focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and launch readiness
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of assembly or machining process development experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing engineering environment
- Hands-on plant floor experience
- Strong technical knowledge of process engineering disciplines and product development processes
- Solid understanding of high-volume manufacturing and assembly processes
- Experience managing equipment development through design, build, installation, and launch
- Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors to deliver manufacturing solutions
- Experience with transmission, drive unit, or powertrain assembly processes preferred
- Familiarity with Bills of Equipment, Bills of Process, BOSE, and Bills of Operations preferred
- Demonstrated experience driving process improvements and implementing new manufacturing technologies preferred
