About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Set up and run simulation-based analyses, including FEA, CFD, multibody dynamics, and related tools
- Analyze and post-process results, create plots, and summarize findings for design and program reviews
- Collaborate with engineering, design, manufacturing, validation, suppliers, and program teams
- Use virtual methods to explore design options and tradeoffs and help resolve vehicle issues
- Champion virtual engineering, AI, automation, and analytics to improve speed and built-in quality
- Participate in structured onboarding, CAE training, mentorship, and exposure to Thermal, Safety, Body, and Propulsion/Electrification areas
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, or related Engineering
- Hands-on experience with CAE tools from coursework, projects, research, or internships
- Understanding of material properties
- Exposure to FEA, CFD, and multibody dynamics
- Familiarity with CAE modeling tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and on teams
- Proficiency with MS Office and Google tools
- Interest in automation/scripting, such as Python, is a plus
- Prior CAE or simulation internship/research experience is nice to have
- Experience with NASTRAN, OptiStruct, LS-DYNA, or similar tools is nice to have
- Exposure to automotive testing, manufacturing processes, or vehicle assembly is nice to have
- Recent or soon-to-be graduate
- Must not require GM immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future
