About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze customer inputs and system requirements to create robust software architecture design models for electrification software components
- Lead the design and development of electrification services based on SDV Solution Definition
- Coordinate and participate in software design reviews and code reviews
- Ensure software development activities align with established architecture, standards, and the SAFe framework
- Develop software requirements specifications and software functional specifications
- Perform requirements analysis, software architecture design, data structure design, and low-level software requirement development
- Develop, deploy, and maintain software modules
- Participate in designing an in-vehicle Abstracted Mechatronic Platform for new electronic architectures
- Code, unit test, debug, and modify complex embedded systems software
- Collaborate with engineering professionals to solve cross-functional design issues and deliver products
- Ensure compliance with ISO26262 and Automotive SPICE Engineering Process Model
- Communicate technical and non-technical findings across teams and departments
- Migrate to new vehicle platforms and institutionalize supervisory controls architecture
- Execute key projects, maintain governance, and adhere to industry standards
- Embed built-in quality through BDD and TDD test-first methodologies
- Harmonize development efforts across the VMEC
- Drive efficiencies and innovation in tools, processes, and software
- Collaborate with Software System Architects to improve code quality and reduce technical debt
- Pursue common best practices, efficient algorithms, documentation improvements, cyclomatic complexity reduction, and defects/PRTS resolution
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field of study
- Seven (7) years of experience as a Network Protocol Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Development Engineer, Electrical System Design Engineer, Technical Specialist, Software Engineer, or related role
- Seven (7) years of experience with automotive embedded software development
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Scripting language experience including Python
- Experience architecting embedded systems with design strategies and principles
- Experience with network protocols including CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and SOME/IP
- Experience with Vehicle Development Process timing and key engineering achievements
- Experience with CI/CD principles and automated testing frameworks including Agile frameworks
- Five (5) years of experience developing software with microcontrollers based on Classic Autosar and Adaptive Autosar
- Five (5) years of experience with ASIL A-D safety compliance
- Five (5) years of experience with software tooling with automation, code-generation, and fault injection
- Five (5) years of experience with embedded software development tool set including JIRA and GitHub
