  • Identify and implement ways to reduce complexity, improve integration quality, streamline GVDP, and enable scalable compartment solutions
  • Harmonize engineering, manufacturing, studio, and business priorities with an enterprise focus
  • Communicate program status to support informed decisions
  • Balance engineering criteria with total-enterprise progress to create viable, visionary design spaces
  • Advocate for occupant accommodations including visibility, spaciousness, access, storage, cargo, and driver accommodation
  • Lead virtual integration activities using digital reviews, math syncs, benchmarking, and data-driven insights
  • Identify and resolve integration issues through creative problem solving and trade-off management
  • Optimize bill-of-materials reuse and safeguard architecture bandwidth
  • Contribute engineering insights to clinic properties and mock-up activities
  • Participate in Math Sync points and Virtual Reviews

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Science or other related degree
  • 8+ years of experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of CAD systems, including VIS, and understanding of math-model creation processes
  • Ability to lead ambiguous, cross-functional technical challenges and translate them into actionable innovation
  • Deep knowledge of GVDP and GM’s global vehicle engineering processes
  • Capability to optimize vehicle design holistically while balancing innovation, reuse, complexity reduction, manufacturability, and customer experience
  • Strong collaboration skills with global engineering and manufacturing partners
  • Robust manufacturing knowledge across key processes and disciplines
  • Strong competitive awareness and drive to outperform industry benchmarks
  • No GM immigration-related sponsorship available; candidates must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future
  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle regularly and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review
  • Ability to report to the specified location at least 3 times a week, or at a frequency dictated by the manager
  • Willingness to travel less than 25%
