About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead functional breakdown, requirements development, and failure analysis for low voltage power management subsystems and ART solutions
  • Create and maintain functional and non-functional requirements in SSTS and BTS using BDD methodologies
  • Direct subsystem design across diverse vehicle architectures and coordinate with systems engineers and hardware teams
  • Lead triad meetings for solution requirements and test case development
  • Support scrum team members in decomposing and understanding solution or subsystem requirements
  • Collaborate with controls and software engineers to review implementations for requirements compliance
  • Lead subsystem-level FMEAs and collaborate on System and Component FMEAs
  • Conduct root cause analysis and translate solutions into revised low voltage power management requirements
  • Provide technical support for power-management features, resolve PRTSs, share best practices, and capture IP/ROI
  • Support SAFe planning and work acceptance meetings
  • Develop embedded software requirements that ensure software independence from hardware while understanding hardware architecture
  • Use simulation environments and plant modeling for testing and requirements generation
  • Apply embedded software and battery systems expertise throughout vehicle development, including requirements, design, implementation, integration, testing, and problem resolution

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of automotive engineering experience related to embedded controls, requirements development, architecture development, and/or systems engineering
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including independent judgment and decision-making skills for unusual and extremely difficult problems
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with autonomy and accountability
  • Physics-based understanding of voice-of-customer
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without direct authority, and build relationships in difficult circumstances
  • Experience defining and troubleshooting interactions between hardware and embedded controls
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering focused on Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Systems Engineering
  • Preferred: Design experience with automotive low voltage electric power components, controls, subsystems, and/or architectures
  • Preferred: Familiarity with high voltage systems in electric and hybrid electric vehicles
  • Preferred: Experience developing system- or subsystem-level requirements
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Agile processes and Behavioral Driven Development
  • Preferred: Experience executing production programs through launch
  • Preferred: Innovation record such as patents, awards, or publications
  • Preferred: Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, DNG, and Markdown
  • Preferred: Experience with change management tools such as Jira and Git
  • Preferred: Experience with simulation environments and plant modeling such as MATLAB/Simulink, D-Space HIL, SIL, and ETAS INCA
