About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage program team deliverables across all GPSC in collaboration with the Program Team
- Support execution of strategies to achieve program profitability targets and key GVDP deliverables
- Provide guidance to keep programs on time, within budget, and at required quality
- Achieve program profitability and EBIT targets on program architecture
- Maintain component timing plans
- Work with GM Customs to ensure USMCA and Tier-N compliance
- Support sourcing activities and commodity strategies throughout the GPDP
- Facilitate sourcing meetings, including MPSR/PSR and DDRs
- Provide program overviews, updates, and changes to Purchasing counterparts
- Coordinate and prepare GPSC-PQRR deliverables and Program Gate Reviews for leadership
- Represent Purchasing in program team meetings
- Support contingency planning for troubled suppliers
- Support Launch Excellence and meet post-launch deliverables on time
- Assess change-request impacts from the supply base in response to studies
- Execute profitability initiatives, including benchmarking and supplier workshops
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners to identify and implement profitability opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years relevant experience in purchasing, supply chain, program management or logistics
- Ability to execute with little support in team orientation, timely problem solving, and relationship management
- Emerging ability in analytical thinking and strategic planning
- Ability to travel 5-10% of the time; posting also states travel may be required at less than 25%
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- Prior buyer/purchasing experience (preferred)
- Must not require GM immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, or similar support
- Must report to the specific location at least 3 times per week or as otherwise directed by the manager
- Must be able to work without relocation benefits; relocation costs are the candidate’s responsibility
