About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop algorithms and real-time software for automated/autonomous driving features including Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Super Cruise 2.0, Super Cruise 3.0, and Front/Rear Impact Mitigation
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines that continuously validate feature control performance for each software change
  • Conduct software verification and robust feature validation using unit testing, SIL/HIL, and extensive in-vehicle performance testing
  • Participate in the software change management process
  • Maintain latest performance on test vehicles and manage the vehicle test fleet
  • Support production calibration activities and resolve field and customer issues
  • Develop innovative solutions and protect intellectual property through patents and publications
  • Collaborate with ADAS application software engineering teams to deliver high-performance ADAS software products
  • Help define and execute GM’s ADAS production and future product software strategy across controllers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or Mechatronics/Software/Electrical/Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience developing control systems and/or motion planner
  • Advanced skills in robust, adaptive, nonlinear, and model-predictive control systems design
  • Knowledge of online learning algorithms, such as Kalman Filter and Recursive Least-Squares
  • Automotive simulation and validation experience (HIL/SIL)
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and numerical methods
  • Experience with software design, Simulink modelling, Python, and embedded C/C++ programming
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to learn independently, highly adaptable, and embracing of changes
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to work well with other team members
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Preferred: Experience with functional safety and ISO 26262
  • Preferred: Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
  • Preferred: Knowledge of embedded control systems and industrial/automotive hardware controllers for ADAS
  • Preferred: Familiarity with vehicle dynamics simulation packages (CarSim and CarMaker)
  • Preferred: Experience being a team leader
  • Preferred: Experience working with Agile/Scrum development processes and tools
