About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop innovative CFD simulations for electrified propulsion components
- Collaborate in small teams to develop complex multiphase flow and/or thermal simulations
- Apply simulation capabilities to impact design and processes and eliminate hardware testing
- Provide component-level and/or system-level design recommendations to Design Responsible Engineers based on analysis results
- Participate in product design and development teams
- Present analysis results to engineering peers and management
- Provide technical insight for problem resolution using analysis results
- Benchmark and evaluate new procedures, technologies, and software tools
- Contribute to automation tool development using Python or Java
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 2+ years of experience with simulation, design, testing, or release of propulsion-related systems
- 2+ years of experience with CFD analysis of propulsion-related systems
- Familiarity or practical experience with vehicle propulsion system design, operation, or testing
- MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with coursework in heat transfer and fluid mechanics preferred
- Experience with STAR-CCM+ or Simerics-MP+ CFD software preferred
- Experience with CFD optimization tools preferred
- Experience with test-to-model correlation preferred
- Experience with programming in Python, Java, or equivalent languages preferred
- Linux experience in distributed computing environments preferred
- Experience with the latest CFD visualization techniques preferred
- Knowledge of Siemens NX CAD modeling preferred
