About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead exploration and definition of future digital experience paradigms across web and mobile platforms
- Develop and validate GM’s future design vision and enable its implementation across digital experiences
- Reimagine end-to-end web experiences from 0 to 1
- Identify and document new interaction models
- Prototype north star concepts influencing long-term digital strategy
- Solve ambiguous, cross-cutting problems through strategic thinking and design rigor
- Establish experience frameworks and design patterns that product teams can evolve into web components and contribute to the design system
- Define experiential language, interaction principles, and storytelling approaches for emerging digital journeys
- Partner with product, engineering, research, and marketing teams to validate concepts through experimentation
- Translate emerging technologies and behaviors into actionable design direction
- Participate in design reviews, iterate on feedback, and present work emphasizing visual clarity, craft quality, and execution excellence
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 7+ years of experience in digital product and experience design, including senior roles
- Experience designing concept-driven, future-facing work across web and mobile platforms
- Ability to define interaction models, experience architectures, complex patterns, and design frameworks at a system level
- Advanced proficiency with digital design and prototyping tools; Figma is required
- Strong communication skills and ability to present complex ideas clearly
- Portfolio demonstrating brand design, visual design, typography, hierarchy, color, and motion
- Strong UX skills and portfolio case studies demonstrating UX strategy translated into improved user journeys
- No GM immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future
- Preferred: 10+ years of relevant professional experience
- Preferred: experience in advanced, exploratory, or innovation-focused design teams
- Preferred: background integrating emerging technologies such as automation, intelligence, or new input modalities
- Preferred: experience aligning company-level product strategy, roadmap decisions, or platform vision through design
- Preferred: experience collaborating with multiple teams and elevating design quality
- Preferred: experience in large, matrixed organizations with distributed teams
- Preferred: proactive problem-solving and curiosity about learning new technologies
