About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build, and operate full-stack features across a NextJS frontend and Go backend services
  • Own systems from architecture through production
  • Develop rich data visualizations and dashboards translating statistical concepts into intuitive insights
  • Extend a shared component library with cohesive style and reusable building blocks
  • Collaborate with product, UX/design, and partner engineering teams to refine requirements and deliver experiences
  • Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and design discussions
  • Manage multiple concurrent deliverables and proactively surface risks and blockers
  • Make pragmatic decisions amid evolving priorities and incomplete information
  • Set technical direction for work streams and mentor other engineers
  • Aggregate vehicle software signals from testing, releases, and the field into dashboards for engineers and leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus four years of relevant experience; or equivalent knowledge with six years of relevant experience
  • 6+ years of experience with at least one programming language and working knowledge of additional languages
  • Solid grasp of software design principles
  • Hands-on experience building web applications with modern JavaScript frameworks, including React/NextJS
  • Proficiency with version control, test-driven development, debugging, and performance analysis
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven track record leveraging AI tools responsibly and validating their output
  • Production experience with NextJS and TypeScript, and modern JavaScript tooling
  • Experience building data visualizations using charting libraries such as Recharts, Chart.js, or visx
  • Comfort translating statistics including distributions, variance, and aggregations into clear visuals
  • Experience contributing to shared component libraries or design systems
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and micro-frontend architectures
  • Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future
