About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and maintain Java back-end microservices using Quarkus or Spring Boot
  • Expose versioned REST and GraphQL APIs with shared DTOs
  • Build responsive Next.js/React front-end features using TypeScript and Apollo
  • Develop and support Databricks data workflows using Unity Catalog, Delta tables, and the medallion pattern
  • Evolve PostgreSQL or Oracle transactional schemas using versioned Liquibase changesets
  • Produce clean, documented, testable code aligned with team standards
  • Conduct code reviews and write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using TestNG, Selenium, and BrowserStack
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across services, portals, and data pipelines using Datadog and Application Insights
  • Work within GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, including security scanning and dev-to-test-to-production promotion
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into technical work and drive delivery with stakeholders and business analysts
  • Lead software design for scalability and reusability across the UI, services, and database
  • Coach and mentor software developers and collaborate with architects and data scientists
  • Help keep the main branch releasable at all times

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 7+ years building and shipping production software
  • Strong recent Java/JVM experience with Quarkus or Spring Boot
  • Full-stack experience with Next.js/React/TypeScript through Java services to the data layer
  • Experience designing and operating RESTful and GraphQL APIs, including contract/versioning discipline and API security best practices
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or Oracle, Hibernate/JPA, Quarkus Panache, and Liquibase
  • Working knowledge of Databricks, Delta, and Unity Catalog; ability to reason about data models, lineage, and access control
  • Experience deploying and running services on Azure using Docker, Kubernetes/AKS, and container registries
  • Fluency with Git and GitHub-based CI/CD, including automated build, testing, security scanning, and promotion pipelines
  • Working knowledge of Terraform
  • Knowledge of metadata standards, data-movement patterns, and ETL/ELT best practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of the SDLC and experience in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Ability to lead development initiatives and drive design decisions
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, prioritization, written communication, and verbal communication skills
  • Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future, including H-1B, TN, or STEM OPT
  • Competitive-edge experience includes Apache Spark, Databricks DBX job orchestration, change-data-capture/HVR, GHAS, Wiz, Dependabot, secure SDLC, feature-flagged trunk-based delivery, AI-assisted development, regulated domains, Datadog, and Azure Application Insights
