About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead operational supply chain execution from suppliers to manufacturing sites
  • Ensure uninterrupted material flow, vehicle and service parts availability, and disciplined response to daily disruptions
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team translating demand into executable supply plans
  • Stabilize operations and modernize supply chain execution across suppliers, plants, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Lead rapid identification, containment, and resolution of supply, capacity, logistics, and supplier disruptions
  • Lead engineering change management related to future material availability and launch excellence
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, Quality, and Finance on decisions and trade-offs
  • Manage and escalate operational risks, including impact, recovery plans, and customer exposure
  • Monitor and improve KPIs including material availability, supplier performance, inventory health, premium freight, and schedule adherence
  • Assess supplier ship plans, capacity constraints, and recovery actions
  • Reimagine operational supply chain processes using data, automation, and digital tools
  • Drive innovation between supply planning and supply operations to make the global supply chain more predictive and less reactive
  • Identify and deploy solutions that reduce manual work, improve decision quality, and strengthen operational resilience
  • Translate emerging technologies and analytics into scalable operational use cases
  • Drive standardization and simplification through improved tools, workflows, and operational playbooks
  • Champion continuous improvement and rigorous problem-solving
  • Develop team capabilities in analytics, digital tools, systems thinking, and operational decision-making
  • Establish expectations for skill progression, learning, and capability building
  • Coach leaders and individual contributors in high-ambiguity, fast-paced environments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience across automotive supply chain, manufacturing operations, launch excellence, or service parts
  • Proven experience leading teams with a minimum of 4–5 direct reports in complex, high-pressure operational environments
  • Deep understanding of material flow, production scheduling, supplier management, and logistics operations
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and capability transformation within an operational organization
  • Strong operational judgment and ability to make timely decisions with incomplete information
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint
  • Experience translating data into action
  • Executive-level communication skills
  • Must be willing to travel 10–40% domestically and internationally
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience supporting automotive plants, service parts operations, or global supply networks preferred
  • Experience in Google suite preferred
  • Demonstrated results delivering operational stability, cost reduction, and capability transformation preferred
  • Proven track record of connecting business needs with innovative, execution-focused solutions preferred
  • Must not require GM immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, or similar work authorization support
