About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze and implement product and machinery designs for the best method for manufacturing process
  • Propose and evaluate processes for equipment in the assigned area
  • Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes
  • Participate in project management for large projects for Transmission and Drive Unit Assembly Equipment
  • Support prototype builds through development of processes, tooling, and equipment while working with product engineering to refine designs for manufacturing
  • Implement the production manufacturing process for new products
  • Design, construct, integrate, install, launch, and continuously improve equipment and tools required in plants to produce high quality parts
  • Provide technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
  • Participate in development and testing of advanced process technology
  • Provide technical direction to and coordinate less experienced process engineers
  • Investigate warranty data and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat defects
  • Apply lessons learned to future product and process designs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field of study
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Maintenance Group Leader, Test Engineer, or related role
  • Five (5) years of experience with process engineering
  • Five (5) years of experience with plant floor and design for manufacturability
  • Five (5) years of experience with Transmission and Drive Unit Bill of Equipment, Bill of Process, Bill of Sediment Elimination, and Bill of Operations
  • Five (5) years of experience with technical problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Five (5) years of experience with failure mode and effects analysis and Control plan
  • Five (5) years of experience with engineering technical skills including leak test, torque (fastening), press operations, error proofing methods, and process modeling
  • Five (5) years of experience with design for safety and risk assessments
  • Five (5) years of experience with simulation, throughput analysis, theory of constraints, and workload modeling
  • Four (4) years of experience with functional understanding of Transmission and Drive Unit operation
  • Must be able to report to local office
  • ~25% domestic travel
