About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute the OTA Readiness Plan for vehicle launch and OTA capabilities
  • Understand implementation project timelines and vehicle program rollout timing
  • Develop, design, and create payloads and campaigns to deliver VeSCoM and monitor performance
  • Design dashboards to monitor delivery status using optimized SQL statements in relational databases and big data platforms
  • Drive resolution of issues lacking a natural owner or requiring multifunctional coordination
  • Own the end-to-end OTA deployment method by coordinating with SW VSE, SIT, PQE, and PEMs
  • Ensure successful VeSCoM delivery for Capture Test Fleet and customers
  • Understand core strategies, feature requirements, UX requirements, and operational process requirements for OTA programming
  • Lead multifunctional efforts across Product Development, Aftersales Engineering, Customer Experience, and supporting teams from inception through validation, approval, and delivery
  • Collaborate with the System Integration Team to develop and execute integration plans for robust field performance
  • Drive closed-loop learning for update-campaign issues and route corrective actions to responsible owners
  • Define, refine, and document scalable processes for multifunctional and new team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience within the automotive industry or engineering
  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases and big data platforms
  • Working knowledge and experience in OTA update and vehicle connectivity technologies
  • High analytical ability to solve unusual problems and remove roadblocks
  • Proactive, results-driven approach with initiative and individual accountability
  • Experience leading multifunctional teams with strong collaboration skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to summarize concise project status and focus leadership attention on key issues
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in automotive electrical systems and/or vehicle programming
  • Preferred: experience in structured Systems Engineering environments with formal Requirements Engineering, Change Management, and Configuration Management processes and tools
  • Preferred: knowledge of GM business processes, systems, and tools, including eMERGE, SPR, PRTS/JIRA, VSMSOTA, GSIM, R2T2, GSPAS, VCAM, Vehicle Spy, or CANalyzer
  • Preferred: knowledge of DFSS principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Must not require GM immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, or similar immigration support
