About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and execute the strategy and roadmap for enhancing trust in Synthetic Data used to create GM's next-generation autonomy
  • Drive innovation in utilizing and scaling Synthetic Data to provide training data and insights faster to autonomy development and validation teams
  • Lead cross-functional efforts across Simulation, ML infrastructure, and Autonomy development
  • Own the long-term product vision and strategic direction for increasing trust in Synthetic Data across GM
  • Scale synthetic data production in quality and volume to establish it as a first-class data source in the training workflow
  • Communicate technically complex information in an easy-to-understand narrative to stakeholders across GM
  • Drive a data-driven culture and establish and monitor key metrics
  • Establish quality frameworks and “is this good enough?” criteria
  • Define and track KPIs demonstrating the impact of synthetic data on model performance and program outcomes
  • Collaborate with product management, program management, design, engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams
  • Report to the Warren, Michigan or Sunnyvale, California office at least three times per week

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years product management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related fields
  • Solid understanding of the latest Simulation platforms, ML orchestration infrastructure, and validation workflows
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects forward without a clear path
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Ability to balance user needs and expectations, technical requirements and constraints, and business objectives
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing and ability to integrate vision, strategy, and technical details in a cohesive narrative
  • Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future
  • MBA or master's degree in a technical or engineering discipline (preferred)
  • Experience working on Autonomous Vehicles, ML infrastructure, or large-scale simulation/testing (preferred)
  • Exposure to synthetic data generation, simulation, or domain adaptation for perception or behavior models (preferred)
  • Track record building trust with staff/principal engineers through transparent roadmaps and honest communication (preferred)
