About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop new and innovative CFD simulations for electrification propulsion components
  • Collaborate in small teams developing complex multiphase flow and/or thermal simulations
  • Apply simulation capabilities to impact design, manufacturing processes, and eliminate hardware testing
  • Provide component-level and system-level design recommendations to Design Responsible Engineers
  • Participate in product design and development teams
  • Present analysis results to engineering peers and management
  • Mentor and provide technical assistance to colleagues
  • Provide technical insight for problem resolution using analysis results
  • Benchmark and evaluate new procedures, technologies, and software tools
  • Contribute to automation tools using Python or Java

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with CFD simulations
  • Proven expertise in developing new CFD procedures
  • Familiarity or practical experience with vehicle propulsion system design, operation, or testing
  • 2+ years of experience with STAR-CCM+ or Simerics-MP+ preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with CFD analysis of propulsion-related systems preferred
  • Experience with CFD optimization tools preferred
  • Experience with test-to-model correlation preferred
  • Experience with programming in Python, Java, or equivalent languages preferred
  • Experience with the latest CFD visualization techniques preferred
  • Linux experience in distributed computing environments preferred
  • Knowledge of Siemens NX CAD modeling preferred
  • Applicants may be required to complete role-related assessments and/or pre-employment screening where applicable
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement and report to Global HQ Warren, Michigan at least three times per week
