About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage assigned semiconductor suppliers day to day, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, relationship management, and critical-action follow-through
- Drive improvements in supplier supply, delivery, quality, responsiveness, and cost efficiency
- Lead supplier discussions, negotiations, and recovery actions to secure favorable commercial outcomes and mitigate risk
- Work with semiconductor manufacturers and supplier partners to understand constraints, lead-time risks, market dynamics, and recovery options
- Support complex supply chain initiatives through structured problem solving and prioritization
- Consolidate supplier-base feedback and operating updates into actionable insights, recommendations, and escalations
- Build and improve dashboards, scorecards, and reports tracking supplier performance, supply risk, forecast changes, and follow-up actions
- Use GM systems and supply chain tools including ECM, E-Squared, GDiMPS, Cypris, and GDM for supplier data management, analysis, forecasting, and execution
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing commodity teams to integrate semiconductor components into GM products and resolve issues
- Drive accountability by building business cases, aligning actions, tracking commitments, and escalating gaps
- Identify supply-chain trends, risks, and improvement opportunities and recommend actions to improve resiliency and decision quality
- Prepare executive-ready updates on supplier performance, market conditions, negotiations, and risk assessments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor procurement, supplier management, purchasing, program management, or logistics within the automotive, electronics, or semiconductor industry
- Strong experience in supplier and supply chain management, issue resolution, performance management, and cross-functional execution
- Experience purchasing semiconductors or managing semiconductor-related commercial and supply activities
- Experience working in the semiconductor industry or directly with semiconductor manufacturers and suppliers
- Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, supply markets, and industry dynamics
- Experience negotiating with suppliers to drive business outcomes, manage risk, and support continuity of supply
- Experience supporting complex supply chain operations, constrained supply situations, or crisis-response activities
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including dashboards, scorecards, pivots, and ad hoc analyses
- Working knowledge of Power BI for reporting and visualization
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence stakeholders and hold partners accountable without direct positional authority
- Ability to work with urgency, exercise sound judgment, and proactively develop strategies or alternative execution paths
- No GM immigration-related sponsorship available now or in the future; candidates must not require GM sponsorship or immigration support
- Preferred: automotive strategic commodity purchasing experience
- Preferred: semiconductor supplier management in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Preferred: executive reporting, supplier scorecards, and risk dashboards
- Preferred: GM supply chain and supplier-management systems, including ECM, E-Squared, GDiMPS, and GDM
- Preferred: structured problem-solving, continuous improvement, or process-discipline tools experience
