About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and evolve the DDC SDK public API surface, including abstraction boundaries, backward compatibility, and versioning
  • Define and implement observability software across Android Automotive, Linux, and QNX
  • Develop platform wrappers, packaging, and build-system support across differing toolchains
  • Sustain the production library, triage and resolve defects, maintain features across platform releases, and manage deprecations
  • Build configuration retrieval, validation, arbitration, and persistence with last-known-good fallback
  • Extend remote configuration and governance controls for fleet-wide telemetry volume and data policy
  • Implement dependable data delivery under varying connectivity and resource conditions
  • Support vehicle-local data access such as USB-based retrieval
  • Implement runtime controls for observability data
  • Benchmark and tune footprint, CPU, and throughput on target hardware
  • Ensure cybersecurity and data-protection compliance for observability data
  • Partner with platform teams to scope requirements, unblock integration, and drive SDK adoption
  • Contribute to roadmap planning across platform releases
  • Lead code, design, and test case reviews; mentor engineers
  • Own unit and integration testing and validation on bench and vehicle
  • Shepherd changes through release and change-review governance
  • Produce integration guides, configuration references, design documents, and operational runbooks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years in embedded software development or systems engineering across Android, Linux, and/or QNX
  • Strong coding proficiency in modern C/C++
  • Track record of platform-level integration work
  • Experience designing and maintaining libraries, SDKs, or APIs consumed by other engineering teams
  • Experience with versioning and backward-compatibility decisions
  • Working knowledge of OpenTelemetry or comparable instrumentation frameworks
  • Experience designing telemetry for operational visibility and remote control at fleet scale
  • Experience developing production resource-constrained software, including CPU, memory, and throughput optimization on target hardware
  • Clear, concise technical communication and strong design documentation skills
