About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create cutting-edge mobile applications with exceptional user experiences
  • Manage the full app development lifecycle from conceptualization through deployment and ongoing maintenance
  • Develop mobile applications using React Native
  • Develop APIs supporting mobile functionality
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, software engineers, and internal teams
  • Translate code into functional, user-friendly applications
  • Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions
  • Apply standard design patterns and frameworks throughout application development
  • Assist with performance tuning and usability assessment/improvement
  • Identify and remediate code quality, pattern mismatch, and security issues
  • Document software solutions and ensure technical documentation meets GM standards
  • Maintain compliance with GM and industry-standard methodologies
  • Play a leadership role on the team and model GM values and behaviors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in software development
  • 5+ years of experience in mobile development
  • Experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies
  • Experience as part of a software project delivery effort, including deployments
  • Knowledge of software testing, quality assurance, and solutions testing including automation
  • Knowledge of maintaining and debugging live software applications
  • Must not require GM immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be able to work at the Austin, TX or Warren, MI location at least three times per week
