About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive reliability, scalability, and performance of critical software systems on the Connectivity team
- Monitor software system performance and availability across vehicle programs and test environments
- Identify and resolve connectivity issues and implement proactive incident-prevention measures
- Develop and maintain automation tools and test infrastructure for software deployment, configuration management, and system monitoring
- Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement efficiency and scalability optimizations
- Respond to incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with software development teams to incorporate reliability and scalability into software design and implementation
- Identify process improvements, implement best practices, and drive reliability and performance initiatives
- Own solutions from problem identification through implementation
- Collaborate across engineering organizations and mentor other engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another related software subject area, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of embedded systems development
- Exposure to module development process, product development, execution, systems engineering, systems integration, or validation
- Working knowledge of Python and Autobot for scripting, automation, test execution, and connectivity issue troubleshooting
- Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics
- Proficiency in vehicle data communication systems, including CAN and Ethernet
- Understanding of networking and software development in distributed systems
- Experience demonstrating strong technical leadership and ability to explain complex systems to others
- Creativity, initiative, and a high level of independent judgment
- Demonstrated experience developing requirements, features, detailed designs, and production releases
- Ability to root-cause issues, track corrective actions, and communicate them to multiple stakeholders
- Good verbal, written, and communication skills
- Passion to learn new technologies
