Key responsibilities & impact
  • Integrate simulation frameworks with bench wiring, loads, instrumentation, ECU hardware, software, and calibrations
  • Observe, report, and facilitate quick resolution of issues across Electrification, Active Safety, Chassis, and Body Controls vehicle domains
  • Develop new bench capabilities and improve simulation models
  • Implement efficiency, process improvement, automation, and scripting solutions
  • Design, implement, and test novel HIL bench solutions, simulations, and instrumentation for new vehicle features and technologies
  • Develop test configurations and real-time HIL simulation models using Matlab/Simulink in collaboration with bench users
  • Adapt and integrate controllers and plant models with HIL benches
  • Develop or adapt vehicle dynamics simulation models with other plant models for bench use
  • Develop instrumentation and simulation solutions for ECU sensors and actuators
  • Train and support lab users on HIL bench usage
  • Define bench and test property technical requirements
  • Perform electrical design integration and verification

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Senior-level engineering experience is implied by the role title, but no explicit minimum years of experience is stated
  • Skills integrating simulation frameworks with bench wiring, loads, instrumentation, ECU hardware, software, and calibrations
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink for real-time Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) simulation models
  • Experience adapting and integrating Chassis, Active Safety, Electrification, and Propulsion System controllers and plant models with HIL benches
  • Experience with vehicle dynamics simulation models such as CarSim, VeDyna, or ASM-VD
  • Experience developing instrumentation and simulation solutions for ECU sensors and actuators
  • Experience developing HIL test automation and scripting solutions
  • Electrical design integration and verification skills
  • Ability to report and facilitate resolution of issues across vehicle domains
  • Ability to work onsite at the GM Global Technical Center - Estes Engineering Center at least three times per week minimum, with lab work often requiring onsite work five days per week
  • Occasional travel to Milford required
