About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead or participate in multifunctional development teams involving software, systems engineering, product management, program management and hardware partners
  • Analyze and negotiate requirements with internal and external stakeholders throughout product development and integration
  • Own end-to-end capability testing and integration at system and feature levels using simulation and vehicles
  • Triage and analyze simulation and vehicle test data to guide development priorities and refine requirements
  • Form test cases to enable validation plans traced to feature requirements
  • Communicate issues effectively and support problem solving and workload prioritization
  • Apply technical understanding, critical reasoning and structured problem-solving approaches
  • Adapt to agile development and make rapid changes that enable solutions to reach customers
  • Work onsite three days per week, with flexibility between GM sites, including required time at Milford Proving Grounds

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of engineering experience working with complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical/engineering experience
  • Understanding of active safety systems, vehicle performance and automated driving technology
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting deliverables
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze varying courses of action, negotiate efficient solutions, and implement contingency plans
  • Strong technical and non-technical communication skills
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in engineering
  • Preferred: Experience with automotive safety or convenience features
  • Preferred: Experience with ADAS systems
  • Preferred: Knowledge of automotive engineering software and data collection tools
  • Preferred: Performance integration or validation background
  • Preferred: Systems thinking for complex problems
  • Preferred: Virtualization/simulation development
  • Willingness and ability to travel less than 25%
  • Must satisfy export control requirements as a U.S. Person or be eligible to obtain required export control authorization
