About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide application operations support and application ownership for production-critical applications used at vehicle and propulsion manufacturing sites
Support applications used in vehicle assembly and propulsion manufacturing environments
Monitor application and infrastructure health, availability, and performance
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues within agreed service levels
Design and implement configuration changes supporting business needs
Support production issue resolution, code deployments, patch releases, and other critical activities
Perform root-cause analysis with application, infrastructure, development, deployment, and database teams
Create and maintain troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery procedures
Manage certificates, technical documentation, application ownership activities, and support processes
Use queries and diagnostic tools to investigate issues across databases and operating environments
Provide remote technical support to manufacturing sites
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation after the required acclimation period
Support critical production periods, non-traditional working hours, deployments, patch releases, and on-call coverage

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience in a technical information technology (IT) role
3+ years of experience supporting Linux and/or Windows operating systems
Experience with Oracle and/or SQL databases
Knowledge of Docker containers and Kubernetes container orchestration
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and accuracy
Ability to support production-critical applications and participate in an on-call rotation
Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future
GM does not support relocation for this position
