About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage development and integration of embedded AV/ADAS features
- Define and manage feature-level requirements and validation test development
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams to integrate vehicle platform components
- Influence platform roadmaps and long-term technical direction
- Own capabilities end to end and test performance in vehicles and simulation
- Participate in or lead multifunctional development discussions with software teams, capability domains, product management, program management, and partners
- Analyze and negotiate requirements with internal and external stakeholders
- Focus on feature performance and lead technical solutions
- Test and integrate system- and feature-level capabilities using simulation and vehicles
- Triage and analyze simulation and vehicle test data to guide prioritization and refine requirements
- Form test cases for validation plans traced to feature requirements
- Communicate issues and support problem solving and workload prioritization
- Apply structured technical reasoning to solve problems in familiar and unfamiliar domains
- Work within agile development and respond to fast-paced changes
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies for system integration and performance
- Mentor junior engineers and foster technical excellence and innovation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of technical/engineering experience
- Experience with complex electro-mechanical systems, ideally in embedded systems, automotive, robotics, or related industries
- Comprehensive and in-depth technical understanding of ADAS features and behaviors
- Deep technical understanding of the software they are writing requirements for
- Ability to read code and use it to root cause/triage problems during development
- Ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting deliverables
- Ability to identify problems, analyze courses of action, negotiate efficient solutions, and implement contingency plans
- Strong ability to use computer-based tools to collect and analyze data
- High level of technical and non-technical communication skills
- Master’s degree in Engineering preferred
- Experience with automotive safety or convenience features preferred
- Experience with ADAS systems preferred
- Hands-on programming experience with Python or other shell scripting preferred
- Performance integration or validation background preferred
- Experience processing large amounts of information and identifying parameters, interdependencies, and inconsistencies
- Virtualization/Simulation Development experience preferred
- Leadership experience mentoring engineers and leading technical projects preferred
