About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the integration strategy for autonomous sensing suites across diverse vehicles
  • Conduct sensor placement trade studies and mechanical integration analyses for multi-modality sensor systems
  • Perform detailed coverage modeling and autonomous-vehicle behavioral impact assessments
  • Execute sensor location, field-of-view, and coverage analysis across camera, radar, and lidar suites
  • Develop modal profiles and integration criteria across diverse vehicle platforms
  • Evaluate intrinsic and extrinsic mounting tolerances
  • Assess performance against product needs, quantify risks and impacts, and drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with perception, simulation, packaging, vehicle integration, vehicle platform engineering, and production teams
  • Document technical decisions, trade-offs, and deliverables

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience integrating sensors, sensor packaging, tolerance stack-up analysis, or related fields
  • Experience with CAD modeling, such as Solidworks, NX, or other related tools
  • Expertise in sensor integration analysis, mechanical trade studies, and analytical methods for placement optimization
  • Understanding of self-driving challenges and how sensor placement impacts safety and product performance
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex technical domains and collaborate across teams
  • Experience with Matlab, Python, or other languages to support tooling development
  • U.S. Person status required: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee, or refugee
  • Position subject to export control restrictions
