About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure the end-to-end over-the-air software delivery feature reliably downloads and updates vehicle software across GM-developed vehicles
- Use sub-system test bench environments to ensure critical and complex features are properly developed and integrated throughout major vehicle development milestones
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures on sub-system benches
- Author automation test scripts
- Build, maintain, and manage test environments for manual and automated runs
- Triage system-level nonconformities to the appropriate module or back-office system by acquiring and analyzing data logs
- Document anomalies using company-standard issue-tracking tools
- Follow issue resolution from origination through verification, closure, and monitoring
- Support on-time, quality software launches
- Interact cross-functionally with design, systems, suppliers, and back-office teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 2+ years of professional experience within software quality
- Understanding of automotive serial data protocols, including CAN and Ethernet
- Ability to manage multiple project assignments and switch between tasks as timing and resources dictate
- Software QA, triage, and log analysis
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate test vehicles
- Preferred: Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Preferred: 5+ years of professional experience within software quality
- Experience with end-to-end testing of Over-the-Air Reflash features
- Experience with vehicle electrical systems and data buses, including CAN, CAN-FD, and Ethernet
- Test scripting using Python or similar
- Experience with automotive tools such as Vehicle Spy, Canoe, and Mocha
- Experience with hardware and software requirements documentation
- Knowledge of the Vehicle Development Process
- Familiarity with software quality testing automation and advanced automation tools
