About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the CCA Warehouse HR leader and Corporate HR intermediary between CCA Warehouse HRLR and the SCW Leadership team
  • Drive human capital, workforce planning, talent strategy, performance, organizational design, succession, engagement, and inclusion for CCA SCW
  • Lead and develop a team of 16 HRLR professionals, including 7 direct reports
  • Oversee the labor relations agenda for 16 CCA warehouses across the United States
  • Guide site-level contract administration, high-impact grievances, arbitrations, local agreements, and national labor initiatives
  • Coach HRLR partners, HRBPs, and operational leaders on escalation paths, contract interpretation, investigations, discipline/discharge, and complex HR/LR matters
  • Lead change and improvement initiatives, including HR/LR processes, standard work, and governance
  • Own HRLR metrics and forums, using data and insights to influence decisions and drive cross-site action plans
  • Represent HR/LR in critical reviews and governance, including talent forums, performance and calibration discussions, launches, restructures, and major technology changes
  • Model GM behaviors and culture, challenge leaders when needed, identify bias or risk, and foster inclusion across hourly and salaried populations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Extensive, progressive experience in HR and labor relations, including significant experience as a senior HRLR leader in a complex unionized environment
  • Expert-level understanding of HR policies, employment law, and investigation practices
  • Advanced expertise in National and Local Agreements, contract administration, local agreements, grievance/arbitration strategy, and large-scale labor initiatives
  • Experience leading and developing HR/HRLR teams
  • Experience driving human capital and labor strategy for a distinct business area
  • Strong business acumen and ability to use data and analytics
  • Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills with executives, plant leaders, union leadership, and HR peers
  • Ability to manage conflict objectively and constructively, including high-profile or sensitive labor disputes
  • Willingness and ability to work onsite at plants and travel across a region as business needs require, including off-shift and weekend presence for critical situations
  • GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship; candidates must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future
  • Regular travel required (25–50%)
  • Preferred: experience as an HRLR Director/Site Lead with responsibility for multiple plants or a large, complex site
  • Preferred: direct involvement in major organizational transformations
  • Preferred: success mentoring and elevating other HRLR leaders
  • Preferred: experience partnering with N-band executives and corporate LR on enterprise-risk labor matters
