About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support occupant protection and vehicle safety performance for GM Vehicle Programs
  • Work with engineering functions, suppliers, and manufacturing groups to define action plans for vehicle passive safety performance
  • Participate in design reviews and peer reviews
  • Develop comprehensive validation plans, prepare confirmation testing, and perform post-test evaluations
  • Evaluate test results and identify data anomalies
  • Work with Senior Engineers to generate documentation, including test reports and Type Approval
  • Maintain frequent communication with the working team, monitor action plans, and present performance status in regular forums
  • Lead and support development and improvement of virtual and physical validation methods for safety performance
  • Integrate solutions across multiple functional groups throughout the vehicle development process

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
  • CREA registration eligible, with registration required in the future
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English Languages
  • Basic knowledge of Automotive Passive Safety Performance development
  • Proficiency to evaluate CAE and physical test results
  • Knowledge of statistical and optimization tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of engineering theory and fundamentals
  • Knowledge of CONTRAN and ECE Standards preferred
