About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and operate Geordie's finance function
- Own financial planning, reporting, forecasting, cash management and financial operations
- Build financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
- Own the operating model, including revenue, ARR, hiring plans, cash runway and scenario modelling
- Produce reporting for leadership, the Board and investors
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on strategic financial analysis
- Own cash flow management, treasury oversight and working capital
- Oversee invoicing, accounts payable and financial operations with external finance partners
- Build scalable quote-to-cash processes with RevOps and Legal
- Ensure banking, insurance and core financial infrastructure operate effectively
- Own financial compliance across UK and US entities, including tax requirements and R&D claims
- Develop insight into unit economics, gross margins and customer profitability
- Support commercial teams with analysis of profitability, pricing, commercial structures and customer opportunities
- Partner with Product on cost management capabilities
- Improve finance systems, processes and controls through AI and automation
- Support fundraising through financial modelling, investor reporting and due diligence
- Build and lead a lean finance team as the business grows
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience leading finance within a high-growth B2B SaaS or technology company
- Strong background in FP&A, strategic finance or commercial finance
- Ability to build robust financial models and planning processes
- Comfortable operating as a hands-on individual contributor while building functions from first principles
- Experience producing Board and investor reporting
- Experience supporting fundraising or due diligence processes
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate financial data into actionable business insight
- Experience improving finance systems, processes and operational workflows
- Curiosity about AI and enthusiasm for building a modern, highly automated finance function
- Highly proactive, organised and comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving environment
