About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain financial statement, covenant, and other credit-related tracking for assigned relationship manager portfolios
  • Follow up on outstanding items and escalate past-due or noncompliant items
  • Complete annual reviews and support periodic portfolio reviews
  • Analyze borrower performance, repayment capacity, collateral, guarantor strength, industry conditions, and risk trends
  • Prepare maturity extension, renewal, modification, and amendment analyses
  • Review borrower financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, credit reports, compliance certificates, and other supporting information
  • Perform financial statement and tax return spreading, ratio analysis, global cash flow analysis, and trend analysis
  • Review borrowing base reports and collateral availability; identify exceptions and communicate concerns
  • Review covenant compliance calculations and identify potential violations or adverse trends
  • Assist with underwriting new credit requests by gathering information, performing financial analysis, researching industries, and drafting credit memoranda
  • Prepare credit memoranda, annual review narratives, portfolio reports, and presentations
  • Conduct economic, industry, borrower, and portfolio research
  • Assist with portfolio reporting, data validation, process improvement initiatives, and special projects
  • Communicate with relationship managers, underwriters, credit officers, loan operations, and other internal partners
  • Follow credit policies, procedures, approval requirements, regulatory expectations, and documentation standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Entry-level candidates and candidates with relevant internship, banking, accounting, financial analysis, or credit experience will be considered
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting, financial statements, cash flow analysis, and business finance
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and in discussions with internal partners
  • Curiosity, sound judgment, and willingness to ask questions, accept feedback, and develop independent analytical conclusions
  • Ability to work effectively within a team supporting designated relationship manager portfolios and to assist across commercial lending areas as business needs require
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required
  • Experience with Moody’s CreditLens is a plus
  • Experience using Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-enabled productivity tools is a plus
  • Formal credit training or coursework in accounting, finance, or commercial banking is a plus
